At Home with Scaramanga!

Posted on

I first discovered Scaramanga a few months ago whilst hunting down beautiful house tours for interiors website Apartment Therapy. I visited Carl and Emma in their lovely old house in pretty Fife village, Freuchie, and their home was so beautiful and inspiring, I just knew that I would have to share their lovely business with you!

Carl and Emma first met travelling and it is their love of adventure and other cultures that is at the heart of their retail business as well as their own home. Scaramanga was born when Carl had the vision of bringing back the iconic vintage leather satchel to the UK after discovering one in a dusty bazaar in a former British colonial desert outpost in northwest India in 1999. I know, it all sounds very Indiana Jones. By August 2006, his first twelve leather satchels had been hand-crafted using carefully researched traditional techniques, and now the business has expanded to include beautiful vintage homewares from all over the world — think big wooden chests and brightly coloured worn wooden cabinets.

Here are just a few of my favourite pieces but have a rummage through all their amazing collections on their website (click HERE):

You can check out the rest of their home in the piece I wrote for Apartment Therapy (click HERE) – especially their INCREDIBLE reclaimed wooden kitchen. LOVE it. Their kids, Josh and Ella, are pretty cute too. Although I don’t think they’re available to purchase online, everything else IS. Huzzah!
