A/W 2012/13 – A trend we can get behind

Now, after last weeks fashion forecast, the VAST numbers of votes have been counted and verified (it took me all weekend but it was a labour of LOVE) and it seems the trend we can most corporately applaud is the ‘big and slouchy’ selection. So high brow. I’m not sure exactly what this pick says about us. Perhaps it suggests that we have eaten too many 99s this summer. Perhaps I am speaking purely for myself. Anyhoo, I love it too – I don’t care if my husband thinks it makes me look ‘boxy’ (blatantly meaning fat), my wardrobe is full of wonderfully shapeless garments with a contemporary edge and now the high street is full of them too so AHOY THERE SHOPPERS, lets go.

For goodness sake save yourself trawling up and down the cobbles aimlessly, I’ll let you in on a wee secret; the go-to one-stop-shop for this look is the high street gem COS. It is a top favourite of mine and many others and for good reason – it stocks chic clothes in the most forward thinking of designs that look and feel much more expensive than they are. Amazing for work wear too, if you’re after a little more edge from your shirt and skirt. All these pieces can be found in store or online for under a hundred and fifty smackers. Bagged. Oh and if (unlike me) you have a waistline you’d like to flaunt rather than bury, sport a skinny belt round any of these beauties – even a coat if your going totally WILD with it.
